Apart from the fact that I am having trouble juggling the extra class and I am ridiculously behind in painting, life is great! There is a lunar eclipse out, UNC won tonight and my homework for tomorrow is to work on a portrait of Kanye West. How awesome is that?

AAAA I got just monsooned on downtown during painting class. Curse Florida weather, it was completely sunny and fine, then ALL OF THE SUDDEN it was like a hurricane. My painting is GOOOONE and that's sad but as I was running through the rain trying to find my friend M. Ward came on my ipod and I just got the goofiest grin on my face. This song ALWAYS makes me feel good no matter how shitty things get... soo... here you go!

nerdy and random question, but does anyone have a PSP and if so do you have roms for old playstation games on it? I think its possible and I read an article or something about it ages ago but I dunno. I just really wanna play certain games again and I don't want to have to lug around my ps2 down to school. Particular games are ffix, parasite eve, legend of mana, etc. How well do they run? Are there any problems with like... seeing the text because of the screen size or anything? Or just overall problems finding a good emulator/whatever the hell you would use on PSP. Apart from that, what are some good games for the system in particular? FFtactics is a given.

god that class is grueling. The fact that we could have had Don Brandes teaching it but got ripped off with this new guy from the liberal arts department makes it all the worse. A lot of people think he's funny but IMO he's pretty obnoxious. Man, I dunno. At least after I drew this we started talking about really cool illustrators.

this is so pointless

Scene from Wise Blood. She assigned the scene. I like Flannery O'Connor, but I like her darker works a lot more. Wise Blood is kind of quirky. I dunno, I feel like I've worked my way into some kind of cartoony stereotype in my illustration class, since the teacher assigned excerpts based on past work. I guess I'll go with something drastically different next time. Despite that, I'm pretty happy with how this is going. I've worked on it a lot and changed it around a few times. This is just a half finished value study of the tight sketch, hopefully the final will look much better. I dunno, depends on how much time I'll have to work on it. When it's done I might post the final and all of the process work just for the hell of it.

Not much is going on this week.

- I have loads of work.
- I had my RA interview Monday. I think it went well but Chris is like the hardest person to read that I've ever met, so eh.
- I'm nervous about the Miami - UNC game tomorrow, you can do it Heels! *n*)9
- Charles' bday party this weekend is Mardis Gras themed, mmm. Lookin forward to that, yes ma'am.

1. What made you decide to pursue the major you chose?
Thiiiis... is kind of a hard question. I originally came to Ringling for computer animation. I ended up hating it because there was no room for experimentation or creativity, really, since Ringling's CA program pretty much builds you up for the Pixar/Disney industry. So At some point when I realized I didn't want to do it for the rest of my college years, let alone the rest of my life, I switched over to illustration and I'm having a pretty good time. :] I'm kind of wondering about SVA's cartooning program, but I'm just ridiculously indecisive and everything is always up in the air for me, hahaha.

2. What's your favourite junk food?
*n* um. um. uuuh. nnnn. hhhhn. uuuh. apple pie? nnnn. cheescake? uuummnn wow, anything sweet and bite-sized.

3. Cat or dog person?
I'm totally a dog person. I love big stupid dogs, they're best for hugs and cuddles.

4. What would be your dream job?
Something where I'd get paid to do practically nothing because I'm laaaazy. Haha video game tester. Movie critic. But I guess I'll just have to be someone's art whore instead.

Iii'mmm heading back to Ringling in about six hours. I'll get there in aboooooout sixteen hours. D:

I stayed ip til liiiiek six last night (this morning?) to finish my brother's girlfriend's painting. Baugh, it was kind of fun because I used acrylic and charcoal and I just played around for days until I liked it. I can't take a picture of it because my camera doesn't have batteries, but I did do some shitty gurren lagann doodles that I CAN post. 8D.

Iiii like them. I was pissed when Kamina died, so I focused all of my attention on Viral, who I guess liked Adiane or something, so I liked Adiane too, but then she kicked the bucket. At least Viral's still around. and we still have Leeron. :'3

It is really fucking hot outside. It's so hot that one of our trees died. And I mean like.. died. It didn't just turn yellow. All the leaves fell off and it's a scrawny death twig sticking up in the middle of our back yard now. A couple of our other trees are losing leaves too. It's sad, I love my yard. :<

WATCH THIS SHIT

Apparently, it's by the same team that did FLCL. It's much more coherent and less eclectic than FLCL since it's a longer series, but it's still fantastic. ACTUALLY, if you wanna just check it out, pick up on episode 6 because 1) it is a sort of recap episode, and 2) half of the time they run around bare-ass naked and it is the funniest thing.

Yesterday I stumbled across a torrent for a bunch of Neil Gaiman audiobooks, (American Gods, Neverwhere, Neverwhere the radio play?, Coraline, Murder Mysteries, Speaking in Tongues, and a few random short stories.) I've never read Coraline, so I listened to it today. Twice. I wasn't expecting to love it so much, I guess since its a children's novel or some stupid reason I can't recall, but I am completely in love with it. Also, I am COMPLETELY in love with audiobooks. I get my kicks out of reading books with really, really vivid imagery. But if I want to draw I have to inevitably stop reading. And then I'm detached and it doesn't always work well. Audiobooks are magical in the sense that I can listen and draw at the same time. THE SAME TIME.

So yyeaah. I'm thinking of doing a series of illustrations for the book, but I don't know. I am so ridiculously busy. But it is so ridiculously good.
