The day before yesterday
our elevator broke.
My room is on the seventh floor.

So I'm pretty much trapped either upstairs or downstairs, depending, and right now I'm trapped downstairs because I have to do laundry. I also have to go back upstairs to finish the rest of my EE homework but I-I don't want to climb those stairs again ;__; Maybe I'll get lunch first.
BUT..! I hart ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) potetoe!!! She is ~*~very mysterious~*~* and has a huge friggin dorm room(s).
And my Art of GS book arrived at my house a few days ago so my parents are going to ship it to me tomorrow ;; j-joy

A friend of mine started reading it. We can actually talk about the whole series in depth because I wound up reading a lot of plot synopsis/info about it. (though I'll admit my main reason for being a snob about it is because of the fandom.)

_Library books on minerals, crystals & astronomy. Also an introduction to the elements. Also two books by Cormac McCarthy. I'm bad and insecure when it comes to literature. I don't know what to like or why to like it.
_Was thinking of possibly switching majors at Stony Brook. Art-related stuff is most definately what I want to do but the art department here feels small. SBU is great for sciency, mathy, medically things I think. But then I thought about what would be involved in really doing this stuff and decided it wasn't a good idea.

Maybe I'm posting more because I am so sore about not having computer access all the time and want to take advantage of whenever I do get on. PERHAPS
I hate physics forever I hate it!!! Nobody understands anything we learn in Electrical Engineering which is way pathetic for me because I... already learned it in tenth grade and STILL don't get it. And the class has insufficient direction, it's like "here is a brief conceptual lecture about stuff that seems simple enough OKAY GO BUILD SOME COMPLICATED CIRCUITS." I don't even get to solder anything because we use kits in which you insert wires and components into conveniently arranged nodes. I WANT TO SOLDER THINGS. I LIKED SOLDERING even though I sucked at it.
Comp Sci is kind of fun by now though because it's really satisfying when the code actually works *u*
and today is the second day in a row that I got caught in rain because I forgot to bring an umbrella to class. It starts out of nowhere!! how am I supposed to know when I can't wear my sandals?! We walked back from class during a friggin thunderstorm and I couldn't stop thinking about when Suna from SROA (speaking of SROA when the heck is it going back up) got struck by lightning even though she was the shortest person in her group and sdklajkg lightning is so scary.
I.. forgot how to draw. I don't know how to draw on paper anymore 8|;
I figured I would try finishing JFA while I'm here but some faggot cleared all the data before reselling it so I have to suffer through ALL the cases again before I can do the Engarde one. I'm up to 2-2 but I just ran into the first psycholock soooo fuck this shit ;_; Psycholocks and Moe's testimony are not the best ways to reward myself for finishing homework (OMG I actually do my homework in a timely manner, it is very strange) so instead I started rereading Flowers for Algernon WHICH I LOVE ♥ I guess I like books about mental disorders or something because that, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and The Curious Incident are all some of my favorite books. I want a cool book about synesthesia because A Mango-Shaped Space is stupid and not even written by a synesthete. Sound→color does sound annoying though.

I'm posting this now because the other day my cousin was over, and he said, "Jaida, are you going to actually post about this event in advance, unlike the New York Comic Con thing, which you only posted about about five hours before it happened?" And I thought, "Why cousin, you are so clever, of course I shall!" So yes. If you come, I will be forever grateful. If you tell other people to come, I will be even more grateful. This gratitude might involve cookies alongside the chance to see my skills as a public speaker, which are, you know, they're. Okay anyway.
That being said, impromptu audience poll: at signings/author events, do you guys like readings or a song-and-dance kind of routine better? Trying to decide what to do is difficult.
Note: my to-do list is to 1. reply to some comments, now that all visitors have left the building, and 2. make some more livejournal posts with more interesting questions in them. Once Dani and I finish the second book. Which is due so soon. Oh heavens.

So fat from Jenni's. Never again. Some major lifestyle changes need to be implemented, especially after a pie/s'more marathon. Anyway, a long time ago I mentioned I wanted to start writing in my journal again and since I'm going to be RAing this year and living by myself, I think that's a good time to start.
Can you guys give me layout suggestions? Colors, themes, pictures, etc? I'm not into throwing my fandoms up on my journal so no suggestions of Avatar layouts, thx. :) I think a new layout that I actually really like will be a good inspiration to start up a journal again.
Edit: Howl is definitely a possibility.
Editedit: Does anyone do photography? I really want a nice camera but I know next to nothing about cameras... I'd preferably like a Canon since I'm the most familiar with them and an EOS model sounds good. Older models are great too since they're cheaper. So... Any recommendations?

Uh.
It's kind of sad that I haven't actually done any new pages on this comic with has been floating around for over a year now. I'm determined to finish it before the summer's through.
Went over the black areas on these two pages. The black areas were done with a few different microns and sharpies and the coverage turned out really uneven with lots of splotchy areas(visible in the first image towards the top.) When I scanned them I adjusted the contrast/levels a lot to make everything a flat black but it bothered me that the pages themselves didn't look that way in real life. So now they're painted over and much better. When this comic is finished I want to do a show or something with it so I'm trying to make sure everything looks fine in person.

Additionally, the MIT libraries have subscriptions to many electronic databases of journals and newspapers, which you can access through a service called Vera.
fuck I almost lol'd in the classroom
(counter-intuitively, I am posting more often now than I used to at home. HMM)
